Top 10 Songs About Beer

While sitting in my office this afternoon, I was starring at my drums and thinking about music.  I love music almost as much as I love a good IPA.  Music and beer go hand in hand.  I believe that music is better if you have a beer in hand, and drinking beer is better with some good tunes rocking.

It got me thinking about songs about beer and gave me an idea to make a beer drinking playlist to listen to while I work. After looking over the songs, I figure I would write a post on the top 10 songs about beer.

1. Pretty Good At Drinkin’ Beer – Billy Currington
   Yeah, he talks about drinking Bud Light, but this song reminds me of me.

   I’m not the type to work in a bank
   I’m no good at slappin on things
   Don’t have a knack for makin motors crank, no
   But I’m pretty good at drinkin beer

2. Beer Run – Garth Brooks and George Jones (originally by Todd Snider)
   I’m a sucker for Garth Brooks and George Jones, so had to add this one on the list.

   I guess half a dozen cases doesn’t last that long
   Come tomorrow morning it’ll be all gone
   Then, it’s turn around, leave town, sounds again
   Like a B Double E Double R-U-N.

3. Beer Bottle Boogie – Koko Taylor
   Great blues song, with a nice guitar solo.

   I drink good beer when I go home

4. Beer – Asylum Street Spankers
   Good catchy tune.

   Well I’ve tried ‘em all and it might sound queer
   But my favorite drug is a nice cold beer.

5. Who Spilt My Beer – The Adicts
   A little English punk. Will someone please tell the truth, who spilt his beer?

   Come on in
   Lets go buy me a beer
   If one of you dosn’t own up pretty soon, I’m gonna be very angry
   Who spilt my beer, who spilt my beer?

6. I Like Beer - Tom T. Hall
   An oldie but a goodie.

   I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow
   I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow)

7. Beer! – Psychostick
   This wins my WTF award.

   I like beer ‘cos it is good
   I drink beer because I should
   if there was a song to sing
   I sing it and beer you bring

8. Beer Beer Beer – Flogging Molly
   Had to add an Irish drinking song to the list.

   A barrel of malt, a bushel of hops, you stir it around with a stick,
   The kind of lubrication to make your engine tick.
   40 pints of wallop a day will keep away the quacks.
   It’s only eight pence hapenny and one and six in tax, 1 2 3 4 5

9. Beer Thirty – Brooks & Dunn
   I think a few people have covered this song, I like Brooks & Dunn’s version the best.
