The Men’s Fitness Magazine website posted an article today entitled Pub Crawl: America’s 5 best beer bars for beer lovers. While the list — which was comprised of Freakin’ Frog in Las Vegas, The Map Room in Chicago, Kennedy School’s Courtyard Restaurant in Portland, Ore., Spuyten Duyvil in Brooklyn, N.Y. and The Brickskeller in Washington, D.C. — was made up largely of watering holes I was largely unfamiliar with (with the exception of The Brick), the Men’s Journal article also included a list of ten of the best micro brews in the country, complied by Ray Daniels of the Brewers Association and Julie Bradford of All About Beer magazine.Allagash Brewing

The list of top 10 brews was in alphabetical order — not weighed by favorite — so I’m not sure what rank it  recieved, but one particular brewery on the list stood out: Arguably Maine’s best brewery, Allagash, was top of the list (I would argue having nothing to do with the alphabet).

The rest of the list included, of course, Brooklyn Brewery, Deschutes Brewery, Firestone Walker Brewing Company, New Glarus Brewing Company, Odell Brewing Company, Rogue Ales, Russian River Brewing Company, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, and North Coast Brewing Company. As Men’s Journal said,

Pop open any bottle from these companies, they say, and it’s almost impossible to end up disappointed.

Congrats Rob & crew, as always.
