Hi! Thank you for visiting blogaboutbeer.com, make yourself at home. The site was launched in August of 2007 as a resource for better beer, beer news and fun beer stuff.  Blog About Beer was originally created by Luke Livingston, owner of Baxter Brewing in Lewiston, Maine. In June of 2010, I bought the site from him as he opened his brewery as a way to get my foot in the door in the beer industry, as well as learn and share my knowledge of great beer.

Who exactly am I?  Well, my name is Logan Thompson and I am from Vancouver, WA which is a suburb of Portland, OR, which for those of you who don’t know is one of the greatest cities in the US for craft beer.  I graduated from Western Washington University in 2004 with a bachelors in marketing and worked a few random jobs in the web design industry before starting up an Internet marketing company called Blink Source.  I’m married to the greatest girl in the world and have a daughter who was born April of 2010.

My free time is spent homebrewing, playing drums, volunteering with middle schoolers, eating ridiculously spicy foods and keeping up with the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trail Blazers.  I am a huge fan of good beer, but not what you would consider a beer snob.
